Overview
The City is a vast, quarantined metropolis — once a gleaming urban center, now ravaged by the Scourge. The Radiant Church enforces the quarantine, maintaining order through a militia and its Jaeger hunters. Trains are not supposed to travel outside the city, making the party’s arrival on one a less-than-legal affair.
The City was once in a “golden age” of luxury and prosperity. That age is over. The train’s worn velvet seats and tarnished brass armrests are a metaphor for the City itself — beauty decayed.
